A Message from Luz Amparo Chagüendo Ospina
I thank God for each of you and collectively for the work that we can realize for peace. It is because of the work of all of us as peacemakers that we can live out the call to witness to God's justice with peace as BPFNA~Bautistas por la Paz.
The news of Jason's departure as executive director is one of surprise and brings about questions about future direction. First of all, we offer a word of gratitude on behalf of the board for his leadership during these years of growth and development as an organization. We also offer a word of encouragement to our staff to advance and grow personally and professionally during this period.
I am reminded in the Gospel of Matthew that during the intensity of a storm, when the disciples were unsure about their future as the waves rocked, Jesus awoke to give them a word of calm and assurance. This is the spirit of my message to you. We will remain steadfast in our mission and trust that, even in the uncertainty, God is guiding us toward a future rooted in peace with justice.
The board executive committee is in the midst of plans to secure future leadership, support the existing staff, and maintain the stability of our organization. We will work with intention and care to ensure that the transition is smooth. During this period, we will continue to rely on your support and engagement as we discern the best path forward for the organization. We ask that you continue to stay connected and plugged into our movement, and please continue your support both in prayers and with committing your resources in giving.
Please know that we are committed to transparency and will keep you informed as we take next steps. In the meantime, let us remain anchored in the work of peace, knowing that calm will come, and we will move forward together, stronger and more dedicated to our mission.
