Peace Fund
The Peace Fund offers grants up to $1,500 that support both local and world peace projects.
Christ came not only to bring spiritual reconciliation but also to initiate a redeemed and healed social order. We follow Jesus by taking up this message of liberation and reconciliation and building a culture of peace rooted in justice. Projects eligible for Peace Fund grants equip, mobilize, or gather to accomplish these goals. For example:
Trainings that bring new skills to the community and build capacity for peacemaking
Organized participation in social justice demonstrations
Dialogue groups, multifaith coalitions, or friendship tours that build friendships and understanding across cultures and focus on issues of peace and justice
Requirements
Applications must equip, mobilize, or gather people to build a culture of peace rooted in justice. We prioritize:
Applicants operating in one of BPFNA’s four member nations: the United States, Canada, Mexico, or Puerto Rico
Projects supporting BPFNA’s annual theme
Projects tailored to their local context that develop and strengthen indigenous leadership
Applicants and projects for which limited funding can make a significant impact
Peace Fund grants are renewable for 3 years. Since funding is not automatically guaranteed, renewal applications should include updates on project development.
Within 60 days of the project’s completion grantees must provide a report that indicates how monies were spent, how well the project accomplished its goals, and what challenges were faced.
Four hundred people from the Pokot and Turkana tribes in Kenya celebrate Women’s Peace and Reconciliation Day as part of a trauma healing peace conference for widows and women who have lost husbands and sons to the on-going violence in the Rift Valley. BPFNA partner Boaz Keibarak organized and led the conference with a Peace Fund grant.
